LG Optimus C (Cricket Wireless)
The Optimus C is perhaps most like the Optimus M in terms of appearance. Measuring 4.57 inches long by 2.22 inches wide by 0.63 inch thick, the Optimus C is clad in silver plastic all around the sides and the back, and it weighs at around 5.39 ounces.
This is yet another variant of the Optimus One, which is an above average mid range Android smartphone. You have Android 2.2 running with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 3.2MP camera with a 1500mAh battery. The physical buttons are a tad different than what you will get on the other versions, but all in all it’s mostly the same experience. More pics and hands-on video are after the break.
In addition, the Optimus has lots of great smartphone features. Cricket’s third Android smartphone includes features like a 3.2MP camera or camcorder, MP3 player or microSD slot, virtual QWERTY keyboard, and more! The Optimus is a fully featured Android smartphone with an Android 2.2 OS and a 600 mhz processor. This smartphone gives customers access to over 100,000 apps on the Android market as well as great Google apps like YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search and more.
On the other hand, a microSD card slot is located underneath the battery cover, and the phone comes preloaded with a 2GB card; my 32GB SanDisk card worked fine as well. There’s also about 170MB of free internal memory. The music player is stock Android. It was quick and responsive, and displayed album art when it available.
In short, the Optimus C is available for $199 MSRP, but you can frequently get it lower than that due to Web discounts. Right now, you can get it from Cricket for around $130 without a contract. As Cricket offers unlimited bundles for as low as $55 a month, it is not a bad deal. It was so wonderful.
